100HD-MZ unit is designed to work with newer CAN-bus BMWs that have 2-wire LED tail lights.
Note! for LED taillights with 3-wires, use our T-50W tailBlazer.
100HD-MZ has a built-in ballast to allow continuity during the flash mode. It has a low-side interrupt circuit to allow flashing of the LEDs. This makes it easy with just a single wire splice on the Ground wire of the bike.
100HD-MZ can be installed in the tail section, under the seat.
When you apply the brakes the LEDs will modulate rapidly at first then slow down to a solid ON over a period of (4) seconds.
WHAT DO THEY SEE?
As soon as you tap your brakes, drivers behind you will see a rapid flash of the brake lights. This sudden flashing invokes immediate attention.
WHAT WILL THEY THINK?
tailBlazer uses a flash pattern which decays exponentially - a well-recognized deceleration warning. The attention to the initial flashing now changes to a clear recognition that you're beginning to slow down!
Simply flashing brake lights or flashing them on & off will get the attention of drivers behind you, but it doesn't invoke anything else. Every split second of delay in their reaction reduces your safety margin.
"Z" option software is built-in to work in conjunction with the current monitoring system of the bike, so you don't get the warning lamps/icons lighting up during brake flash sequence.
tailBlazer utilizes a switch-over technology during the brake flash. However, if the LEDs do become inoperative, the built-in warning function of the bike works as normal.
The internal circuitry is controlled by a microprocessor, which allows precise flash patterns, overload detection and reverse polarity protection.
